Introduction to Perinatal Mental Health

About this live event

Growing a baby is a big deal—and so is the mental health of the person growing them. Mom’s Need Love Too is a fun, informative, and compassion-centered introduction to perinatal mental health designed to help professionals better understand what’s really going on beneath the surface during pregnancy and the postpartum period. This training introduces participants to Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), including perinatal depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma-related disorders, and postpartum psychosis. Grounded in evidence-based practice and aligned with PMH-C competencies, this course emphasizes trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based care. Participants will leave feeling more confident identifying red flags, offering meaningful support, and connecting parents to appropriate resources—because moms need love, too.

  • Identify and describe common perinatal mood and anxiety disorders across the perinatal continuum.
  • Recognize biological, psychological, social, and systemic risk factors impacting perinatal mental health.
  • Apply trauma-informed and person-centered approaches when supporting perinatal clients.

  • Madalyn Caldwell, PhD, LPC-S, PMH-C

    Madalyn Caldwell is a licensed professional counselor supervisor in Alabama. Madalyn provides a safe and nurturing space for clients to explore their feelings, navigate challenges, and develop coping strategies. Her approach is collaborative, holistic, and culturally sensitive, recognizing the importance of addressing the diverse needs of her clients. Madalyn is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and Perinatal Mental Health Counseling (PMH-C). Madalyn is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR). She serves as a trainer for mental health professionals, sharing her knowledge and expertise to empower the next generation of therapists. Through workshops, seminars, and individual supervision sessions, Madalyn strives to cultivate a community of skilled and compassionate practitioners dedicated to supporting mental health.

CEU Cancellation Policy

• Transformative Solutions, LLC will refund 100% of registration fees for continuing education courses cancelled by Transformative Solutions, or you may choose to apply their registration fees toward another course.
• Transformative Solutions, LLC is not responsible for the cost of travel and/or lodging payments made by participants regardless of cancellation of courses or registration.
• If a training is postponed, the registrant has the option to attend the training on the new date or have their registration transferred to a new training within six months. No refunds will be given.

Refund Policy

• If a refund is requested, registrants may receive a partial refund, minus a $20 administrative fee. Refunds must be submitted in writing to info@transformativesolutions.net. No refunds will be issued within 2 weeks of the event. Failure to provide a written cancellation request within the 2-week time frame, as well as failing to attend the event, will result in no refund being issued.
• Refunds are not provided due to technical failures at your location. It is the registrant’s responsibility to contact us if they do not receive webinar login instructions. Failure to login does not result in a full refund.
• Failure to participate in live webinars will not be subject to a refund.

Certificates

• Certificates are distributed through the Ce-Go platform. Registrants must complete the training evaluation to have access to download the training certificate. Please contact info@transformativesolutions.net for further questions.
